Professor Jen Morton

Biography

Jen Morton is a group leader at the CRUK Scotland (formerly Beatson) Institute and and Professor in the University of Glasgow School of Cancer Sciences. She gained her BSc in Medical Biochemistry in 1998 and a PhD in Molecular Oncology in 2002. She carried out postdoctoral training at the University of Glasgow and then at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she first specialized in pancreatic cancer research. In 2007 she joined the CRUK Beatson/Scotland Institute where she now leads a lab researching pancreatic cancer. The work in her lab has generated insights into pancreatic cancer biology, how pancreatic cancers spread, and how the ‘normal’ cells in the body are hijacked to support pancreatic cancer growth and resistance to therapies. She works with both academic and industry collaborators to identify and test new therapies for pancreatic cancer and guide more effective clinical trials.
