Scottish Cancer Conference 2025 – Save the Date!

This year’s conference represents a unique, high-profile gathering of individuals and organisations involved with or affected by cancer, from patients to pharmaceutical companies, clinicians, academics, policy makers, and charities. It presents an unrivalled opportunity to share, learn, network, and understand the latest developments in our combined efforts in beating cancer. The theme for this year’s conference will be “Countdown to the 2026 Scottish Parliament Election”. Thanks to improvements in the prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment, cancer survival has doubled in the last 50 years. However, the number of new cancer cases is projected to rise over the next 15 years and cancer inequalities in Scotland remain stark. Cancer mortality rates are around 80% higher for people living in the most deprived areas of Scotland, compared to the least deprived.

With just six months until the next Scottish Parliament election, this year’s conference is a rallying point for collective ambition: to ensure that cancer is a top priority for the next Scottish Government.

By bringing together voices from across the cancer community, we hope to inspire collective thinking and explore opportunities for positive change — guided by evidence, shared experiences, and a commitment to putting people affected by cancer at the centre.

The event will take place on Monday 10th November 2024 at the University of Strathclyde, Technology & Innovation Centre, 99 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RD. We will be opening registration soon.

This year, there will also be the opportunity to register for an exhibition package at the conference. If you would like to exhibit at this year’s event, please get in touch at scotcancerconf@cancer.org.uk.

We will also have a small number of free tickets for people with lived experience of cancer and who are not affiliated with an organisation who wish to attend. For further info on this, please email scotcancerconf@cancer.org.uk.
